It's getting closer to the final A-Level Biology Paper 3 exam.

The AQA A-Level Biology Paper 3 Exam is on Tues 16th June. Here are my observations about paper 3 topics.

It is vital to revise and prepare for ALL topics. This is not a set of predictions for the paper, rather a set of observations of the topics that are often assessed.

So, we need to think about which topics were missing from papers 1 and 2. So once you have done these papers – think about which topics were missing.

We can also think about what also hasn’t been done so recently on paper 3. But for this paper there is definitely a trend of topics that are regularly the focus of questions.

General observations for which topics are often the focus of the practical skills assessment:

2026

  • Taxes and kinesis
  • Often something on techniques for DNA
  • Lots of studies testing drugs – cancer / stem cells / GM / epigenetics
  • GPP, NPP, N cycle, energy flow, fertiliser experiments
  • Look out for any of the required practicals

Good luck everyone!
