Society Benefits from Overseas Students
17th January 2018
The BBC News recently reported that overseas students add billions of pounds to the UK economy (Higher Education Policy Institute). As well as tuition fees, student spending helps support local economies with Sheffield gaining the most across the country.
With the full effects of the EU referendum still to be felt (the UK is due to leave the EU in 2019), less International students could result not just in job losses at universities themselves but also for businesses in areas where students live. Of course, the impact of International students is not just economical, they also bring a wealth of talent and skills.
This could be a useful article for the Education topic and also when discussing demography (reasons for migration).
