Podcast Recommendation: Hometown - A Killing
8th July 2020
This podcast from BBC Sounds follows journalist Mobeen Azhar as he covers a story in his hometown of Huddersfield.
Azhar's investigation into the death of Mohammed Yassar Yaqub in a police operation in 2017 leads him to discover more about the drug trade and gang violence in his hometown.
The podcast could be used for the Crime and Deviance unit (the social distribution of crime and deviance by ethnicity, gender and social class, including recent patterns and trends in crime), as well as making links to relative deprivation and gender roles.
