New research finds a secular rise in intelligence across birth cohorts. It has become one of the most widely documented facts in psychology.

This report from VoxEU draws on a study of Finnish armed forces personnel.

Based on an analysis of half a million Finnish males, this column presents evidence that a long-term increase in scores for traits such as self-confidence, sociability, and leadership motivation has taken place.
