Psychology ‘Feedback Impact’ Marking Grids
25th September 2017
In order to make marking easier and help students, and Ofsted, understand their feedback, Carrie-Anne has created an effective tool for providing feedback that has the potential to save hours of time while maximising the impact of feedback.
Carrie-Anne has created a marking code sheet that can be used for most question types. She uses WWW (what went well) and IOTI (in order to improve) to provide students with a series of codes that they have to use to de-code their feedback.
‘I regularly find myself writing the same phrases or comments on work, and these marking codes can significantly save time’, explained Carrie-Anne.
‘Students fill in a 'Feedback Impact Sheet' when they receive formative feedback. This is then kept in their files. The idea is that at the end of a topic they can see which areas they need to work on the most giving them direction for revision/exam practice overall. I know some people have huge classes, this year’ explained Carrie-Anne, ‘so thought I'd share a simple yet effective format just in case others can make use of it too.’
