New Findings Show Dopamine’s Complex Role in Schizophrenia

If you’re studying the Year 2 Topic Schizophrenia, you will have encountered the Dopamine Hypothesis. A recent article in the Journal of Biological Psychiatry reviews seven articles examining schizophrenia.
The article describes new insights into the disorder and outlines the growing complexity of the neurotransmitter’s action. However, despite the complexity surrounding the action of dopamine, these new insights also provide hope for the patients with schizophrenia.
