Call My Bluff Icebreaker Activity
26th August 2017
Here's a great icebreaker activity for the start of term, to get students introducing themselves and talking in small groups.
Download the "Call My Bluff" activity
The idea is simple: students write two true statements and one lie (bluff) about themselves on the cards provided. Then in groups, students take turns to read out the statements while the group has to work out which one is the lie.
Hint: Tell your students to think creatively. For example, I am 4ft 6, 5ft 6 and 6ft 6, doesn’t make a very engaging opening conversation with your group!
Once every student in the group has taken their turn, the group decides on the best ‘bluffer’ (so to speak) who then shares their statements with the class.
Of course, as their psychology teacher, you should have no trouble in working out which one is a lie…right!
