Snow falls in the Sahara desert

Wow - evidence here that the world's hottest desert is not immune to the impact of winter.

The BBC news report explains that "Snowfall is rare in the Sahara, despite the fact that it can be cold at night - because there's rarely enough water around for any kind of precipitation."
