Scrapping the HS2 project

Joanne Parkinson

12th June 2018

Whilst national advancements are the reason behind investments in transport projects such as HS2, many believe that the solution to narrowing the development gap in the UK lies with regional and local changes to transport infrastructure.

The costly national venture; if stopped, could provide 112 towns and cities across the UK with £500m each to invest in their own transport.  Check out the initial thinking around this.  It would make a great discussion point with GCSE Geography classes when focusing on economic world and the UK element.
