This Powerpoint pack includes 6 short activities to test prior knowledge and encourage discussion about Economics as a subject.

The activities can be split up and added to a wider Powerpoint presentation or used as a standalone resource throughout the initial delivery of A-Level Economics. The activities include:

  • Think Like An Economist – What are the 9 key characteristics of an economist?
  • True or False – Questions about A-level Economics, its assessment and expectations from examiners.
  • 30 Second Countdown – Students must list other social science subjects.
  • Give Me 3 – students asked to give 3 reasons why studying economics might be useful throughout their life.
  • Bubble Pop – Students asked to list as many real-life entrepreneurs as possible.
  • News Headlines – Activity tests students’ knowledge of key real-world stories over the summer.
