Assuming that you've left much of the financial markets section of the A level Economics specification until year 2 of the course, here's a challenging online resource for next year's Year 13 students looking for some work as preparation.

Called 'Strong Bonds', the resource comes in 3 parts:

1) An introduction to investment bonds and key terminology.

2) The 'Strong Bonds' online simulator: invest £10,000 on a portfolio of bonds and see if you can return a profit over the 5 year period of the game. The game has elements of skill (or risk) as well as the random nature of how sound investments can go wrong! Perhaps students within a group can play the game and see who manages to get the greatest return?

3) A short multi-choice quiz based on the information found within the introductory section and the game.
