Duncan Weldon BBC Newnight's Economics Editor is on fine form in this extended piece on threats to the process of globalisation. World trade in goods and services is now growing at the slowest pace since the start of the Global Financial Crisis and there are widespread fears of currency wars acting as a proxy for a return to protectionism especially among emerging market countries hit hardest by the slowdown in China and the devaluation of the Yuan.
