EconoFun Update (2018)

1st May 2018
Here is a welcome update from Serena Patel on her economics resource EconoFun. Great to hear that it is gaining increasing popularity among teachers and students.
EconoFun is an Economics board game to be used in the classroom for A-level and IB students. It is an interactive and engaging way to revise economics.
Through over 300 cards, students race their way to the centre of the board by describing economic terms, drawing and analysing graphs, and answering questions based on economic theory – all the whole interacting with their peers.

As of 2017, EconoFun has been expanding further into international markets. Since launch over 130 units have been sold, with Australia, New Zealand and China recently jumping on board following glowing feedback.
Questions are split into five topics:
- General economic concepts
- Markets: How they work & fail
- Business economics
- Macroeconomics and economic policy
- The global economy
Since launching we have been over the moon with the feedback from teachers and students.
‘I believe that teachers and lecturers will be keen to use it with their students once they have seen how it works. It is easy to set up, visually appealing and quick to learn. Each game takes about 15 to 20 minutes and is ideal for use in class’
Professor John Sloman, Economics Network
"Who would have thought that economics could be so much fun? Econofun blends the learning of key economic terminology with student-centred learning. A fantastic resource for period 5 when students are tired of textbook learning and video tutorials"
Mr B M Durkan, Head of Economics & Business ,The Queen's School, United Kingdom
My year 12's and 13 students have really enjoyed using Econofun and have used this regularly in class and so much so, they have asked to use it outside their lessons to revise their economics at lunchtimes and their free periods. The level of peer teaching whilst playing the game is superb and students require a high level of accuracy from each other with their answers. A fantastic revision activity.

The game costs £44.99 for one, £84.99 for two and £120 for three with discounts for bulk orders.
