Data Starter: The world’s copper producers, 2000-2024

Which countries produced the most copper between 2000 and 2024?

Using the Visual Capitalist infographic, answer these calculation questions:

  1. Find (a) the country that is the biggest global copper producer in 2000 and in 2024 (b) the country that had the most rapid increase in copper production between 2000 and 2024, and (c) the countries that saw a fall in their copper output between 2000 and 2024.
  2. Using all the information given, estimate how much of the world’s copper China can use in 2024.
