British Gas and VW unveil three-year electric vehicle deal
5th March 2020
An interesting new joint venture has been announced between VW and British Gas.
They are looking to encourage the adoption of electric cars, with VW providing the car and British Gas the home charging technology and the cheap electricity. It is a fascinating example of something that I'd expect to become more common over time. The partnership will also involve other car makers in the Volkswagen group, including Seat and Skoda, with plans for Audi to join later in 2020. Perhaps a small step in restoring the reputation of Volkswagen after the scandal of their emissions-testing misdemeanours?
