About this event

Year 2 of the Pearson T Level Health marks an important transition from the broad knowledge and skills developed through the Core to the occupationally specific knowledge and practical skills students need to demonstrate threshold competence.

Our experienced hosts will facilitate a practical day which will:

  • Unpick the structure and requirements of the Year 2 Occupational Specialism
  • Explore the knowledge and practical skills required within the Supporting Healthcare Core
  • Consider effective approaches to teaching the three Supporting Healthcare Performance Outcomes: maintaining safe working practices and environments; supporting an individual's overall care, comfort and wellbeing; and assisting registered health professionals with routine tasks
  • Explore ways to develop students' confidence and competence through practical, contextualised and scenario-based learning
  • Consider how to integrate knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours throughout Year 2 delivery
  • Explore the requirements and teaching implications of the Occupational Specialism assessments, including practical assessment and professional discussion
  • Provide an overview of approaches that can be applied across the five Occupational Specialism pathways
  • Share practical teaching approaches, activities and resources that can be adapted for different pathways and centre contexts

Join us for a full day of practical guidance, resources and opportunities to collaborate with colleagues as you develop your confidence in teaching the Year 2 Occupational Specialism and preparing students to demonstrate the knowledge and practical skills required for success.
