About the course
This course provides a comprehensive and resource-packed guide to the basics of teaching A-Level Law, to build your confidence and knowledge, and support your delivery and assessment, focusing on the demands of the different questions, how students are assessed and teaching the curriculum.
What we'll cover
- This session will cover selected essential key legal updates from recent cases and statute. We will discuss these changes and how they affect the exams, whilst providing ready to use teaching and learning ideas and resources for each of the key updates.
- This session focuses upon structuring the course, looking at proposed delivery models and how to design an effective scheme of work (programme of learning) and scheme of assessment. This session includes tried and tested modes of delivery, ready to use resources and fully editable templates.
- This exam specific session will focus upon breaking each of the exam papers down, discussing the requirements of each question and then guide teachers through how to teach exam techniques for the different variety of questions in order to support students in decoding the exam question and writing effective responses.
- This session focuses on how students are assessed in A Level Law and how to approach student marking and feedback (based on your specific exam board covering AQA or OCR Law.) There will be the opportunity to undertake live student marking and moderation during this session to boost your confidence in applying the marking criteria.
