The CEO who sets prices!

Geoff Riley

26th September 2017

Here is a revealing interview with the UK CEO of Aldi.

The article helps to highlight why Aldi - acting as a deep discounter in the grocery sector - is well placed to be highly price competitive across their smaller product range.

"Aldi stocks around 1,700 products, compared to the 20-30,000 items you find in a typical big supermarket. And 94% of these are private label. Not being beholden to big brands enables it to buy products more cheaply - passing on the savings to customers while still making decent margins."

And their rapid organic growth strategy seems to have plenty left in the tank.
