Palmer created the theory of the toxic childhood, which refers to the damaging effects of the 21st century on children. Which means there is a generation of children whom are not appropriately socialised to maintain the norms and values needed for society to function well. The changing cultural societal views of children has had a negative impact on children and their movement into adulthood.
