Liberal Feminism

All feminists identify and are concerned about patriarchy in society, but liberal feminists are particularly interested in the issue of legal equality. They want men and women to have the same legal rights. As such, in the UK at least, when women got the vote on equal terms to men, the Equal Pay Act was passed, as well as the Sex Discrimination Act, and various other reforms in areas such as birth control and divorce, many liberal feminists think that their battle is well advanced and in those areas largely won. However, liberal feminists would still point to the fact that there is a gender pay gap and to issues like the glass ceiling and the dual burden.
