Islam is the second biggest religion in the world with approximately 1.6 billion Muslims worldwide. As a religion, it is a monotheistic religion as there is a single God/Prophet (Muhammed) which explains human behaviour and existence. However, there are fundamental Islamic groups which take a rigid and more traditional approach to mainstream Islam. For example; ISIS believes that mainstream Islam is not following the Qur’an as it is intended to be followed.
