Ethnography

Ethnography is the study of a culture, a group or human behaviour. Although not synonymous with one single research method, it does feature the empirical recording of people's every-day behaviour and is therefore most associated with observations, and particularly participant observation, as ethnographic researchers want to achieve verstehen, to really understand how their subjects view and understand their behaviour and interactions. Ethnographic research often wishes to understand the habitus or mores of a particular social group.
