Christianity is one of the main world religions with approximately 2.2 billion followers. As a religion, it is a monotheistic religion as there is a single God which can be used to explain human behaviour and existence. However, there are fundamental Christian groups which take a rigid and strict approach to this belief system. For example; in America, the New Christian Right believes that mainstream Christianity has lost its way and old testament belief systems need to be put back into society.
