If you are studying or teaching on wealth, welfare and poverty, this Radio 4 programme on welfare costs may be useful. Welfare costs are going to be - are now indeed - a big issue for countries like the UK in the coming years. Welfare costs present an economic, social, political and not least, human problem. Remember Wright Mills definition of a social problem too (scroll down to get to the heading ‘Personal troubles and public issues’).
