US Supreme Court backs protection for LGBT workers

Last week the US Supreme Court ruled that employers who sack workers for being gay or transgender are breaking civil rights laws.

LGBT campaigners have said that the decision protects their rights as they should not have to hide their sexuality at work.

This article includes a timeline of some key moments in LGBT history in the USA, and it could be used for the Culture and Identity unit (relationship of identity to sexuality).
