Here is an interesting article from BBC News about the use of 'like' buttons on social media platforms such as Facebook.

The introduction of a 'like' button (often using a heart symbol or a thumbs-up) is a simple way for users to engage and demonstrate their approval, and this can be quantitatively measured by a user and the platform itself.

The article could be used for The Media unit (social media).
