The coronavirus backlash: how the pandemic is destroying women's rights

Sarah Best

30th June 2020

This article examines how women have bore the brunt of the economic fallout of the effects of coronavirus in their households.

A number of studies are cited including research from the University of Sussex that found "70% of mothers reporting being completely or mostly responsible for home schooling and 67% of working women feeling like the “default” parent most or all of the time."

The article also discusses the impact of women living in abusive relationships, as well as the impact of women experiencing mental health issues.

This could be used for Family and Households (triple shift, feminism, double bind).
