I found this great little interview today with a young sociologist who’s done a sort of updated William Foot Whyte study amongst Chicago’s gangs. The interview was written up in 2008 and the research was a bit before that, but I’d call it an update. Very interesting contemporary discussion of the problems of studying hard to reach groups.
