In the first of a two-parter for the Global Development unit, this article explores different people's experiences of pollution in their home city.

Countries such as Poland, China, India and the UK experience record air pollution levels with emissions regularly declared unsafe in some cities.

The effects of which can have serious consequences on people's health and wellbeing.
