According to the Home Office, recorded crime has increased by 9% in England and Wales.

The following article highlights that this rise has occurred due to an increase in violent offences and robbery.

This article could be used within the Crime and Deviance unit, exploring the difference between reported and recorded crimes. In addition, the data could be used within the Research Methods unit when exploring quantitative data and official crime statistics.
