Having children is a Western priority, Swansea uni study reveals
17th October 2019
Swansea University have found that men and women living in Western countries, such as the UK are more likely to prioritise having children with a partner than people living in the East.
Dr Andrew Thomas from the university believes that this may be because there are better family planning options available in the West, including access to contraception and abortions.
The research consisted of giving participants 'virtual dollars to spend on traits they would look for in a partner'. Kindness and looks scored highly in the study for both Western and Eastern countries.
