Flat Earth Society | tutor2u Sociology

Earlier this month the Flat Earth International Conference took place in North Carolina, USA. The following video interviews some of the attendees and the reasons behind their views.

Many of the attendees believe that the general public have been misled by science and various governments about the subsequent shape of planet Earth. Upon watching this video there could be an interesting debate about the origins of these views and what research supports them, as it seems that mainstream science does not. Links could also be made to the concept of meta-narratives and postmodernism, and whether science can really provide all of the answers in contemporary society.
