This timeline from The Guardian provides some examples of events that help define Black History.

The timeline includes events such as the inclusion of a black Briton in the Doomsday Book, to Rosa Parks and the Race Relations Act.

This article could be used for a number of areas within sociology, including: the Stratification and Differentiation unit (dimensions of inequality: ethnicity).
