The following article highlights what to many would be a shocking injustice, a woman who was abused by her step father faces jail after being charged with attempted murder after giving birth to their baby.

Abortion in El Salvador is illegal in all circumstances, and whilst human rights activists have argued that in certain circumstances abortion should be decriminalised, such as rape, there has been no change in the law.
