Irrational Thoughts

According to Ellis, irrational thoughts are patterns of thinking that are illogical, distort reality and prevent you from reaching your goals. They also lead to unhealthy emotions and self-defeating behaviour. Ellis used the ABC model to explain how irrational thoughts affect our behaviour and emotional state, and devised REBT, where the main technique is to identify and dispute such thinking.
