About the role

Loughborough Grammar School is seeking an inspiring and dedicated Teacher of Politics.

The successful candidate will teach A Level Politics across the Foundation, bringing enthusiasm, expertise and creativity to every lesson. You will teach pupils from both Loughborough Grammar School and Loughborough High School, inspiring them to develop a deep understanding of Politics. Politics is a thriving and academically ambitious part of our Sixth Form community, attracting highly motivated students each year.

The department fosters intellectual curiosity, open debate and critical thinking. The Teacher of Politics will be responsible for pupil progress and achievement, delivering high-quality lessons in line with the curriculum. The role also involves promoting the values of the Foundation, serving as a positive role model, and helping students develop into thoughtful, responsible young people who make a meaningful contribution to society.

We are looking for a teacher who can demonstrate: Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Politics The ability to engage and inspire pupils through varied and innovative teaching approaches Strong ICT skills and a willingness to integrate technology into learning A commitment to ongoing professional development In addition to classroom teaching, the successful candidate will be encouraged to contribute to the co-curricular life of the Foundation, particularly through Politics-related clubs, societies or enrichment activities. Above all, we seek a colleague who is an outstanding classroom practitioner, dedicated to nurturing a love of learning and helping every pupil fulfil their potential.
