About the role

The Harrodian School are looking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and dynamic Teacher of History to join our highly successful and popular department on a full-time,

permanent basis from 4th January 2027.

The successful candidate will teach Key Stages 3 and 4 History. KS3 topics include: Early Modern Tudors and Stuarts (Year 7), Industry and Empire (Year 8), and The Twentieth Century, including WW1/WW2 and Civil Rights Movements (Year 9). We have 6 GCSE classes focusing mainly on modern History – Weimar and Nazi Germany, Cold War in Asia, with British topics on Health and the People, and Elizabeth I. The exam board we use is AQA at GCSE History and A level History/Politics. The ability to teach Politics at A Level could be an advantage as there may be some scope for teaching A Level History/Politics, but this is not a requirement in candidates.

Applications from ECTs will be considered but must be supported by a relevant degree, as well as demonstrating a promising ability to teach.
