About the role

The Harrodian School are looking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of Psychology at A Level to provide a one-year maternity cover on a full-time basis from April 2027 to the end of March 2028. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in Psychology as an academic subject as well as an enthusiasm for teaching the full AQA Psychology syllabus to both the Lower and Upper Sixth. If a candidate can offer an additional subject such as Biology, this would be advantageous. The ability to teach outstanding lessons and to inspire and motivate pupils through a diverse range of teaching styles is essential.

Psychology is a particularly popular choice at A Level with Harrodian students and is a high-performing department in terms of results. We are continually developing our range of teaching resources, including our tech-driven materials for the optimum use of student iPads within lessons, and we endeavour to provide a range of interesting opportunities for pupils to develop their appreciation of the subject matter and stretch outside the lessons. Our students are ambitious and they value the additional support the school offers for these opportunities.

Applications from ECTs will be considered but must be supported by a relevant degree, as well as the ability to demonstrate a promising ability to teach.
