About the role

Brockwood Park School are seeking to employ a Teacher of A-Level Humanities Teacher (History and Geography).

The school is a small, independent international boarding school located in the heart of the Hampshire countryside, with around 50 students aged 14 to 19 from all over the world and is run by the registered charity, the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, together with a Study Centre, and the Foundation.

Brockwood Park School is looking for a part-time, A-Level History and Geography Teacher, to join our team in a unique and inclusive learning environment, 12 hours per week, including planning and assessment time (flexible arrangement in terms of days preferable). We are also interested to hear from you if you can only teach either History or Geography A-level.

Our classes are collaborative, with small group sizes of students, and free from the pressures of comparison, and competition. Students are encouraged to take genuine responsibility and agency in their learning, helping to create a supportive and engaging educational environment.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in accordance with curriculum standards and student needs.
• Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and observations, providing constructive feedback.
• Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking.
• Support students' social and emotional well-being by respectful behaviour and inclusivity.
• Collaborate with colleagues and share best practices.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and concerns, whenever necessary.

Requirements

• Strong academic background in Geography and History - ideally the CIE exam board.
• Committed to fostering independent learning, critical thinking, and creativity in your students.
• Experience teaching A-Level History and Geography, or equivalent is highly desirable.
• You are approachable, adaptable, and enthusiastic about contributing to Brockwood Park School's collaborative ethos.
