Renal System

The renal system consists of kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. Its primary function is to filter blood to remove waste products and excess water, forming urine. This maintains electrolyte and acid-base balance.

It also helps to regulate blood pressure through hormone production and helps control red blood cell production via erythropoietin from the kidneys.
