This lesson provides a big picture look at Unit 3 Principles of Health and Social Care Practice

It clarifies what principles of practice are, before moving on to explore some of the Unit 3 topics, such as skills and values for care, legislation and guidelines to outline responsibilities of practitioners and rights of individuals, as well as social determinants of health. A set of case study sheets are provided to support basic student understanding of the social determinants.

An overview of the Unit 3 assessment through the PSA is also provided.
