These activities can be used to support your teaching of C: Disorders of the body and effect on body systems and can be used as starter activities, an alternative formative assessment method, gap filler, extension task or active revision.

Toss n Term Disorders of the Body Key Term Game

This activity will provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of key terms related to disorders of the body. This is a great starter to assess prior learning, a great plenary to check progress or a task to break up a lesson!

What Am I? Disorders of the Body Clue Game

Clues about the disorders of the body are read out. The aim is to correctly identify what the clues refer to, while earning as many points as possible. The What Am I? cards have five clues on them. Five is considered the hardest clue, and a correct guess at this stage is worth five points. Clue one is the easiest and is worth one point.

Disorders of the Body Escape Rooms

This resource brings together student knowledge on essential content area B: Body systems and C: Disorders of the body and effect on body systems. It contains 6 escape room activities covering all the disorders on the spec, each of which will take around 60 minutes to complete. The objective of each activity is for students to:

  1. Solve all the puzzles and ‘escape’ before the time runs out.
  2. Demonstrate their understanding of the causes, primary effects and secondary effects of given disorders on body systems, and the interrelationships between affected body systems.
