Thomas and Friends introduces first autistic character, voiced by an autistic child

The National Autistic Society worked with Mattel, Inc. to create the first autistic character in Thomas and Friends, which importantly, is voiced by 9 year old Elliot who is autistic.

There are 160,000 autistic children of school age in the UK, so it is vital that autism is recognised and reflected in the TV that children watch. Read more on the National Autistic Society website - Mattel introduces first autistic character in Thomas & Friends - and via the Twitter links below.
