Cancer Research UK have reported on a piece of research that suggests complex barriers to accessing care exist when individuals experience a cancer red flag.

The full article - Help seeking: Why isn’t it as simple as it might sound? - discusses some of the issues, which are not just down to lack of education or awareness of cancer red flags. For example in the survey, among those who did contact their GP, those from higher socioeconomic groups were more likely to successfully make an appointment (81%), compared to those from lower socioeconomic groups (74%), showing that health inequalities play a part.
