Son of former Spanish dictator, Miguel Primo de Rivera, and founder of the Falange, Spain's main fascist party in the mid-twentieth century. Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera was arrested in March 1936 and his Falange Party was outlawed by the Popular front government. In November 1936, after the outbreak of the Civil War, Jose Antonio was sentenced to death and killed for conspiring against the Republic.
