UK’s biggest solar farm gets the go ahead
29th May 2020
The government has approved the controversial scheme which is set to power 91,000 homes.
The site where the solar farm will be placed is on the north Kent coastline and is set to cover 900 acres. Many local groups and environmental pressure groups are against the plans due to the damage that may happen to natural habitats. Despite the concerns, “Friends of the Earth” are in favour of the scheme as it will only replace commercial farmland and will actually lead to a reduction in chemicals used on the land and ultimately an improved environment.
