Senegalese coastal communities facing waves of change

The World Bank are grappling with the effects of climate change and coastal erosion on the coastline of St Louis in Senegal.

In Senegal, coastal infrastructure, including 74 percent of housing, is at risk from sea level rise-induced #coastal erosion and inundation. The programme tasked with tackling this, the West African Coastal Areas management is trying to adopt a multilateral approach to the problem.
