Geography in the News: Four women to run the world's most remote post office
6th October 2022
Four women have been selected to run the world's most remote post office and count penguins in Port Lockroy, Antarctica, after beating more than 6000 applicants to the post.
Port Lockroy is a historic site on Goudier Island, but has been closed since the coronavirus pandemic. This team of four women will spend the next five months running the site museum, coordinating ship visits to the island and monitoring a colony of gentoo penguins - but they will be without running water or a flushing toilet!
This is a great example for the challenges of cold environments either at KS3 or KS4. Read the full story here - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-...
