Coronavirus impacts on flood victims

Many Welsh families whose homes were flooded by the February storms of Ciara, Dennis and George are now struggling in temporary accommodation, feeling abandoned as the country tackles the global Coronavirus threat.

The area of Rhondda Cynon Taf has been particularly hard hit. Many people are sleeping on friends’ sofas or in temporary housing as they await repairs to start on their homes. Some of the most vulnerable in the community were flooded twice and are struggling to cope. Whilst many are trying to self-isolate, the need to access resources and to support others in their community means that many are having to go out.
