Ed Glaeser's new book “The Triumph of the City" is a landmark work from an outstanding Economist whose research into the economic geography of cities makes for fascinating reading for students of all disciplines. Too often accused of being a breeding ground for poverty and inequality, cities are actually a catalyst for innovation, entrepreneurialism and social mobility. In this article in the Summer 2011 edition of the RSA Journal, Glaeser argues that we need cities more than ever.
